Airshow Team is an exciting, family-friendly unscripted reality series created by producer and director Lynn Rebuck. This new series is based on her Smithsonian Air & Space cover story about Red 620, the scrapyard jet that Jon Blanchette turned into an airshow star.
The series follows airshow demo pilots and their crews, giving a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of airshows. Episodes feature performances by the USAF Thunderbirds as well as other military jet demo teams and civilian performers.
Season 1 follows demo pilot Randy Ball, mechanic Erin Kelley, Red 620 owner/restorer Jon Blanchette, and volunteers as they prep Cold War MiGs for Ball to fly during the upcoming airshow season. Viewers go into the hangar, behind the scenes at airshows, and into the cockpit with Ball flying aerobatic demos at speeds approaching 600mph. It's thrilling!
